Team Member Spotlight for June: Karly McDonald, Production Coordinator at A1 Mortgage.
We interviewed Karly and would like to share some fun facts with you:
Q: What is your Favorite restaurant and why?
A: Waffle House, there’s something about sitting down with a cup of coffee with my husband on a Saturday morning that makes me happy. Breakfast is also my favorite meal. You can’t beat ordering the All-Star Breakfast that comes with a little bit of everything on your plate!
Q: What did you think you wanted to be when you grew up and why?
A: I thought that I wanted to be a vet when I grew up because I loved animals so much. But then I realized all of the heartbreak and hard decisions I’d have to make and decided it wasn’t for me.
Q: What excited you the most about the home Mortgage industry
A: When I first started working for A1, it was realizing how much there was to learn about the mortgage business. There is a lot to it that many people don’t realize unless you’ve worked for a mortgage company or have gone through getting a mortgage loan yourself. I love learning new things, so the challenge to learn new things that were almost foreign to me was exciting.
Q: What do you love most about your city?
A: My husband and I have moved away from the Kansas City area, then ended up moving back 3 different times. Nothing seems to compare to Kansas City – It is such a widespread area with so many different living options to choose from (Suburbs, inner city, country living). And even if you live in the suburbs or in the country, it’s always pretty easy to make your way into the city. I also love the comradery among the Chiefs fans and the Royals fans. I grew up in Iowa so I never really had an NFL or MLB team to cheer for. Kansas City has made watching sports a lot more fun for me!
Q: How long have you been with A1?
A: I have been with A1 since May of 2016. I ended up leaving for a short stint of time because my husband found a job in Nebraska but when we made our way back to the KC area, I was glad that A1 welcomed me back with open arms.
Q: What does A1 Mortgage stand for in your mind?
A: To me, A1 Mortgage is a company that has your back during the entire process of your loan. The loan officers are all about personalized attention for each borrower on every single loan. The entire A1 team works hard to get everything in order so that every loan can close on time. Many of us are friends inside and outside of the office so this helps us work very well as a team.
